About Us

The Art Flores Memorial Foundation is a local charitable organization founded in 2019 in honor of Art “Tooter” Flores who lost his life to suicide on September 18, 2018. Art was an active member of his Northern Arizona communities, and his family carries on his legacy of acceptance and helping those in need through this foundation. Be like Art – join us in making a difference in our community!

“The funds donated by the AFM for this year’s January Point-in-Time count were used to purchase and print almost 400 books of BetterBucks. These books valued at $5 each along with a one-day pass for the city bus line, are highly valued incentives, and those experiencing homelessness in our community were excited and grateful to receive these as incentives and they directly increased community member’s motivation for survey participation. The funds will also allow us to complete an additional PIT count in summer 2025, when the population numbers of those experiencing homelessness in Coconino county are higher which will allow us to demonstrate more accurately our need for funding and resources. “Youth sports are a crucial element to the success of a small town. When kids don’t have something extracurricular to do, they can find themselves in challenging situations. A regular activity can be the difference between establishing a healthy foundation in becoming contributors to society and being less productive and potentially a stressor instead. I am a longtime resident of Williams, AZ. I played baseball on the same fields as our youth play today. I even played on the city’s all-star team with Art Flores as one of my coaches. Good gear, such as the countless items purchased from the Art Flores Memorial Foundation donations, keep the kids safe and excited to play. Another incredibly meaningful item donated is the batting cage. It was a big investment that will forever benefit the community youth. There are so many impactful things to donate to, but the investment to our community’s youth has lasting influences to countless kids already and will continue for years to come.
